Online safety

Being safe whilst online is important to us.  Nobody can log onto our server without the username and password that we provide.  All our staff have undergone CRB checks.  A copy of our Child Protection Policy document can be found in the Info Centre on Moodle.  For further information about online safety please visit  Childnet International.

Computer matters

Moodle is a web-based online learning environment.  As such no software is installed onto your computer during its operation.  Moodle is operating system independent. You can therefore use Linux, MacOS (10.x) or Windows to work with us.   Any modern computer will work with Moodle.  You will also need a printer.

Software requirements:

A word processor that is able to save files in Microsoft Word (.doc) format;
A modern web browser (We have found that Firefox works better with Moodle than Internet Explorer);
ICT students will need to have Microsoft Office 97 or above;
We think that up-to-date anti-virus software and a firewall are essential.

Although Moodle is really pretty easy to use, it is a good idea to have a working knowledge of your computer's operating system and be able to use the internet before you start work with us.
